Mobile broadband companies have been increasingly bold in infringing on the openness of the Internet. First the elimination of unlimited data plans and now with the concept of the sponsored data plan are bad policies that have a negative effect on the innovation of internet applications and as such should be subject to some form of review or regulation by the government. For that to happen, legislation must be put in place to protect the freedom of the Internet against such bad policies.
These bad policies stifle innovation and create and Internet where it is increasing difficult for those without money to share their ideas with the world.
