Studies have shown that many American citizens disagree with the current federal minimum wage of $7.25/hour. If the minimum wage is increased to $14.50/hour, any single parent will be able to spend time teaching their child right from wrong, and be able to provide for them at the exact same time, rather than that same single parent working 3 jobs and only getting 4 hours of sleep in a 24 hour period. That is just one example of the benefits of raising the minimum wage.
By increasing the minimum, you would be increase workers pay, and in turn reduce their need to work multiple jobs, and due to the increased need for workers, decrease the unemployment rate.
Many hard working full time American citizens would be greatly appreciative of an increase in pay.
