Martial Arts, while not known to most, is an extremely essential aspect in culture. In almost every culture in the entire world, the country's respective martial arts plays a major role in their history. Such examples include Taekwondo in South Korea, which were outlawed during Japanese occupation but later re-established after WWII, and Karate, which played a role in both ancient China and the Ryukyu Kingdoms in modern-day Okinawa, Japan. It is a travesty that high schools across the country do not properly teach students about the history and culture of these various martial arts when plays such a huge role.
