ESTABLISH THE METRIC SYSTEM AS THE OFFICIAL MEASUREMENT SYSTEM FOR THE UNITED STATES.

Created by H.S. on June 08, 2014

The United States should switch to the metric system in order to conform with all other major countries; make it easier to teach mathematics in school; make manufacturing less expensive by only having one set of measurements to use; and resolve the confusion which now exists where both metric and U.S. customary measures are used within one type of organization, as in the medical system. Most Americans are now familiar with the metric system, as shown by the fact that we buy soda in liters; we buy 4mm beads on 16 inch strings; and we have both metric and non-metric Allen wrenches in our tool box. By requiring the metric system be used in all branches of the US government and all companies which contract with the US government, this goal can be reached with a reasonable period of time.
