Only a very small number of countries in the world are still using the Imperial system, and unfortunately, the United States is one of them.
The metric system is superior to the Imperial system for many reasons. The first is that it is easier to learn. The second is that it is easier to compare different quantities in metric, and far easier to convert between different units.
The metric system is standard all over the world, and as such, US businesses are spending billions of dollars each year converting their units of measurements on their commodities to and from the Imperial system to the metric system.
The US government should take the lead in converting to the metric system, which would also act as a temporary boost to the US economy as jobs would be created during the conversion.
