A mandatory financial literacy curriculum should be established in high schools nationwide.
Start with the history of money from 3000 BC and explain the ways money relates to social structures as well as economic prosperity.
Then provide real-world exercises that teach how to earn income, buy, sell, use banks, save, invest, borrow money and pay it back, start a small business, create a profit, and develop positive cash flow from investments. Work practical applications of basic math into these real-world contexts.
Then teach our kids how to detect and avoid financial fraud!
Fundamental financial education will help our children build a sound fiscal foundation for their families, their businesses, and the future of this country.
