Establish a National Education and Sharing Day that reflects a non-sectarian approach to ethics and education.

Created by K.L. on June 08, 2014

Education & Sharing Day was established by a joint Congressional resolution in 1978 to promote the importance of including moral education & the development of good character in our educational system. Unfortunately, rather than linking this day to an individual who helped promote the teaching of ethical values w/in our public school system, Congress linked Education & Sharing Day to the birthday of the late Lubavitcher Rebbe- a controversial & very sectarian leader who forbade his followers to engage in dialogue with representatives of other religious groups & whose policies deprive students in Lubavitch schools of a basic education in language arts, math, and science.
Congress's error promotes a small religious sect instead of promoting democratic values. Please correct that error.
