Establish a national holiday to recognize the $700B contribution made by the taxpayers to save the banks

Created by S.G. on September 08, 2013

We petition the White house to take all necessary steps to recognize the $700B contribution made by the taxpayers to save the banks and other financial institutions from the consequences of their irresponsible behavior. Every October 3, (the date of the enactment of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008), the major banks defined as "too large to fail" and those who run and operate them need to be reminded that they were indeed bailed out from bad gambling debts, known as investments. These funds were not simply used to pay their debts but to give excessively large bonuses to executives and other "key employees', referred to as the "best and brightest."
As ordinary Americans struggle through this economic calamity, they deserve to know their generosity is recognized.
