Many of the 50 states have state lottery systems, and there are also some multi-state games (Mega-Millions and Powerball). Dozens of countries in the world have national lotteries, including China, Israel, Australia, Denmark, Spain, and the Pan-European lottery EuroMillions. If the USA were to have it's own lottery spanning all states who wish to participate, it could raise significant amounts of money to be used in paying down the national debt, which is currently more then $16 Trillion.
