Establish a national sales tax rate of no less than 50 % on the value of any gun (handgun, rifle, semi-automatic, etc.)

We hereby petition the President of the United States,
the Vice President of the United States, the US Attorney
General, the US Supreme Court, the US Senate, and the
US House of Representatives to establish a national
sales tax rate of no less than 50 % on all guns (hand,
semi-automatic, fully-automatic, assault-style, etc.)
that are made available for sale to the general public
of the United States, in order to ensure that the costs
of such weapons of violence are made prohibitively
expensive and less attractive to those who would use
them for purposes of committing violent crimes such as
the mass shooting that took place at Sandy Hook
Elementary School in Newtown, CT on Friday,
the 14th of December 2012.
