Establish a national standard and application process for they carry of concealed weapons.

Created by B.K. on September 25, 2011

Current law allows for states to establish their own policies on the issuance of Carry Concealed Weapons permits (CCW).
This has resulted in inconsistent standards which often times result in variation from county to county. On one extreme some states will issue a CCW automatically at request, and some states will not issue at all. This lack of national standard also results in non-reciprocity from state to state. Legally CCW in one part of the country is a felony offense in others.
We need to establish a national standard for CCW application and permitting. This will provide for both a national standard for background check and training, while providing a consistent process to honor second amendment rights.
