With current concerns over pollution from coal-fired power plants, inefficiency issues with renewable green technologies and melt-down problems with older high pressure nuclear reactors the time has come to invest in next generation nuclear power. The US took the lead in thorium nuclear reactor designs in decades past, but abandoned them due to their inability to be used to make nuclear weapons. Thorium molten salt reactors are the indisputable solution to our current energy crisis, are achievable with current technology and can be operated to extremely high levels of safety with no possibility of an explosive out-gassing or meltdown.
