establish a non-gov't committee of economic experts to oversee all discussions of the debt crisis and resolve deadlock.

Created by L.D. on January 08, 2013

American business leaders unanimously agree that what paralyzes political leaders in the United States is not simply the current atmosphere of fundamental economic disagreement and political instability-but lack of sound fiscal management. The discussion in DC seems often devoid of reason. Although some very smart people depict the debt economic crisis differently from other very smart people, most Americans believe that there is a tremendous gap between those who “know the numbers” (economists and policy wonks), and those who “lead” (Congress and the President). Following the lead of Bowles/Simpson, we call for the immediate intervention of US corporate leaders who can demonstrate a better strategy for debt reduction and spending cuts.
