The Great Recession has severely damaged the U.S. economy and has destoyed the employment and welfare of so many people. While millions of people suffered because of the actions of a few, those reponsible for the financial crisis have never been held accountable and their businesses and lives have been greatly enhanced.
The money and resources devoted to those few companies and individuals deemed "Too Big to Fail" and "Too Big to Prosecute" could have been used to enhance the lives of many more deserving people and businesses.
The goal of this select committe could be to fully investigate and document the reasons for this crisis, to determine those individuals and companies that have broken the law, and finally to fully prosecute the bad actors.
