Oil, gas and coal will be neccessary for several more decades, but there is a real need to gradually phase out their use, and replace as much as possible with clean, abundant renewable sources such as wind, solar and geothermal.
A distinct, written policy to this effect must be created to serve as a guide for future decisions on where to invest our tax dollars, as well as offer incentives for manufacturers and current energy providers to reinvest their profits into renewables.
If done right, this energy policy will end the campaign of mis-information about the risks of fossil fuels to our environment, safety and economy, as well as help our country overtake the competition around the world and become a leader in this new technology.
