Establish safety measures to keep weapons out of the hands of criminals, the mentally ill and those who abuse drugs.

Gun violence in this country is at an all time high. the recent shooting in Connecticut only serve as grim reminder that we are becoming more vulnerable within our own borders to our citizens because of a culture that encourages the wide spread distribution of weapons with little regard for public safety. Mr. President, we request that you take the lead and implement safeguards to keep weapons out of the hands of dangerous or potentially dangerous individuals. We request Psychological evaluations, drug testing and a gun safety course for all people that are making gun purchases. We also request that a tax be collected with sale of each gun so as to increase security and place a metal detector and armed security officer at the entrance to every school in the United States of America.
