In other countries the head of government/executive has to come before their equivalent of Congress (EG parliament in the UK) and answer questions posed by individual representatives. We would propose a similiar system be set up here in the United States whereby the president would come before either Congress or Senate (or a joint session) once a week for a half hour or more and hear questions from members of Congress. In addition, a selection of Cabinet members would come before Congress once a day in a similar fashion to answer questions relevant to their office.
By instituting such a system it would increase congressional oversight of the executive branch, encourage dialogue between the president and his opposition, and create more openness in government.
