The proposal is to establish a taxation policy on the sale of all guns and ammunition in all 50 states and US territories. The taxation policy should establish a Sales Tax of 5% on the sale of any type of firearm to private individuals and/or non-governmental organization. The Sales Tax should be further increased 1% per year for the next 20 years.
The taxes collected should then be used to establish advertising campaigns against gun ownership and gun violence.
This proposal does not prohibit anyone from purchasing a gun. This proposal is for establishment of a tax to help combat the effects of gun violence on our society.
