in 1947 Congress passed the twenty-second Amendment setting term limits upon the office of the President. The intent was to reduce the risk of tyranny from any one president. Congress and senators do not have these restrictions and as a result, we have congressmen and senators like Diane Feinstein or John Dingell who serve for excessive amounts of terms in office.
We, The People petition President Obama to put forth legislation limiting the amount of terms an individual can serve in Congress and Senate.
