establish term limits for both the House and Senate

When the Constitution was originally written, term limits were established for the President, in order to prevent him (or her) from becoming a king (or queen). However, the House and Senate have no such limitations on their terms. Provided one can keep getting reelected, a Representative or Senator can reign for life. There are some elected officials in the House and Senate that have seen three Presidents elected, two of them for two terms, at least. This is an abuse of the system as it was intended by our founders. Limiting the House and the Senate to 12 years total (two terms in the Senate, six terms in the House, or a combination of the two) would weed out career politicians and make way for fresh ideas and people at the highest levels of our government.
