The lack of a term limit for the members of the Executive and Legislative branches creates a conflict of interest, wherein the elected officials focus primarily on getting reelected instead of the needs of the American people.
The best solution to this situation is to revise and expand the 22nd amendment of the Constitution to limit all elected officials in the Legislative and Executive branches to a maximum of two terms in office.
Establishing a two term limit for all elected federal officials in both the Legislative and Executive branches will prevent future occurrences of the stagnation and indecisiveness currently being experienced by Congress. By ending the trend of “lifetime politicians” we ensure that new ideas and perspectives are regularly introduced into the Governmental body.
