Establish term limits for the members of Congress.

Created by T.G. on September 26, 2011

Why is it that the President of the United States is limited to a maximum of 8 years as Commander in Chief but the members of Congress can reign forever?

The 22nd Amendment was passed in 1947 in order to prevent the establishment of a Monarchy. However, it is Congress that has the most influence on the laws and regulations that are passed in this country.

Re-election has become the main objective for most of the career politicians that currently occupy House and Senate seats. By setting term limits on those seats, we will create a Congress that no longer only seeks re-election, but that is more concerned with the job they were elected to do.

We the People want to be represented, heard and respected.

If 8 years is enough for the POS then it should be enough for Congress as well.
