Establish a Truth and Reconciliation committee for the United States of America.

Created by L.S. on December 04, 2014

Too many unsolved and unaddressed incidences of violence and inequality towards minority citizens spot America's history to this day. That is why we propose, by following in the steps of visionary Nelson Mandela, that The Obama Administration create a Truth and Reconciliation Commission for the United States of America. The aim of which would be to reexamine crimes that - due to socio-political mores - were not fully investigated at the time of their commission, allow victims (incl. families) of these crimes to speak their truth, and allow for perpetrators to confess the truth of their involvement in such crimes. Penalties and reparations to be considered. It is also our hope that this commission separately investigate current relevant crimes and, if necessary, recommend action to the DOJ.
