establish "Union Day" as a federal national holiday to celebrate our combined strength as a union of states

Created by A.J. on November 12, 2012

The need for Union Day to be declared a federal national holiday is greater than ever before. Today we are a divided nation. The increase in petitions by thousands of citizens seeking to secede from the union following the 2004, 2008 and 2012 elections make this evident.

Union Day will always reunite us outside of partisan politics by giving us a platform and forum to teach our youth and remind one another:

- of our economic strength as a result of free trade among our states
- of our freedom to travel across state lines
- that only together, as one union of states, can we maintain the worlds strongest defensive forces
- of our fortunate history of peaceful transition of power at the federal level
- that united we stand and divided we fall
