Of the 250 to 260 countries of the world 195 officially recognize each other. Of those 184 have Departments of War/Defense. Not one has a Department of Peace. We are calling for the United States as a world leader to set the example and establish the world’s first Department of Peace. Some will say we can’t afford the cost in these difficult economic times but what’s the cost of continuing down the same path. The Department of Peace could be staffed by volunteers & take up little room, a large broom closet. It just needs to have the backing of the President & United States Government.
