Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest (MAVNI) was a pilot program initiated by the US military in 2009 to recruit foreign nationals who have been legally present in US for at least 2 years and possess language/cultural skills. The program has been on hold for 19 months now and has become so popular as to appear in foreign news papers.
The program serves the purpose of filling in the critical skills gap but has attracted a lot of attention there by making it possible for infiltration by terror networks.
We request you to take steps to evaluate, discuss and bring in necessary changes in the program before reopening it.
