Special interests lobbyists have supplanted the American people's interests with our elected officials. Despite how the people poll and vote on specific issues there is the continual pressure and in person influence of special interests that divert the interest and subvert the needs and wishes of the American people. Corporations should be required to register their lobbyists and charged a significant registration fee for each and every lobbyist that they send to influence an elected official. Legislators should be required to log dates and time spent with lobbyists, the issues that are discussed as well as justify why they should be given preferential treatment over local constituents needs and interests. Registration fees should be at least $10,000 per lobbyist to cover record keeping
