except for reasons of national security, make lying to the public a crime with prison time and removal from office

as Americans we rely on our government officials. the government belongs to the people of the United states. we gave politicians lying whenever it suits them with nothing to loose. we need to stop this. if there were real consequences to lying politicians would be less likely to put there own interests above those of the people. If lying to the government is a crime our leaders should be held to at least the same standard
