Address excessive sentencing against African Americans & those with mental disorders in Tennesse as well as the Nation

Knoxville, Tennesse as well as the nation has a history of giving excessive amounts of prison time to African American first time offenders, as well as those with mental disorders, and substance abuse issues. Most African Americans and those who are unable to hire proper legal representation are told to take a plea deal, in some instances they are found guilty by an all white jury without being explained what they are actually being charged with. ALL Americans deserve the same rights and opportunities. African Americans receive 3 times more prison time than any other race, most are not offered judicial diversion, or other programs that will allow them to truly receive the proper care in order to better themselves. We have to stop District attorneys that act as judge, jury and executioner
