Exclude professional football leagues (NFL) as a nonprofit organization from Section 501(c)(6) and as a monopoly.

Created by R.C. on February 17, 2014

Since 1966 America's most watched sport the NFL has been exempt from paying taxes by Section 501(c)(6) & granted a monopoly under Public Law 89-800. How does this affect YOU? The uncounted millions the NFL was not obligated to pay in taxes means ordinary people like us have to pay higher taxes, public spending must decline, or the national debt must increase to make up the difference. Not to mention most stadiums are PUBLICLY funded (our tax $). In 1966 when the NFL was granted a monopoly there were only regional TV channels. Back then it didn't seem as crazy as today where the NFL last year alone was paid $4 billion for broadcasting rights. I want Section 501(c)(6) amended to no longer include professional football leagues & prohibit privatization of TV images in publicly funded stadiums.
