There needs to be stricter control not infringment of rights to prevent gun violence, specially the likes of Aurora or Newton.
For this, first step is to register all guns & sales (even at gun shows). This way we can trace back all weapons easily to the actual owner.
Next step is to ensure that all gun owners and their immediate family members living with them should undergo mandatory monthly mental health screenings if they want to continue keeping guns at home. This will help us prevent or atleast flag possiblity of incidents like Columbine, Aurora & Newton.
If gun owners do not follow these, then they risk a heavy fine or 1 year jail time.
Again, this way, we do not infringe upon rights of people and make US a safer place.
