Marijuana is currently illegal and completely prohibited at the federal level, despite being legal for adult use in Washington, Alaska, Colorado, the District of Columbia, and Vermont. The majority of states have also legalized cannabis use for those with medical needs. Marijuana has been proven clinically to kill cancer and tumor cells. Yet, legally licensed and regulated dealers throughout states still can not utilize legal banking structures and are restricted to cash. Schedule 1 narcotics have a high potential for abuse and no known medical value, yet the voters of the majority of states have decided that this plant does have medical value and less potential for abuse than the FDA admits. Barack Obama can make founding fathers happy by legalizing their favorite crop.
