We all know that pennies are useless. Most of us won't even bother to pick them up off the street. Unfortunately the ones that do pick them up tend to put them in their mouths (toddlers and puppies) for whom they are toxic. Let's finally rid ourselves of this useless and costly remnant of bygone days. The only people who benefit from the penny is the zinc lobby. It even costs 1.7 cents to make a penny. President Obama, if possible, could you make this part of your legacy and get rid of them by executive order.
