Executive Order to protect Gun Rights that are stripped from honorably serving Veterans for seeking therapy from combat

Created by M.C. on December 09, 2014

Veterans of the Military are returning home to find that they are denied the ability to legally purchase, possess, or even use a firearm, based on the sole act of them having been treated, to any degree, for mental health issues arising from combat.

From the NJ Firearm application: Have you ever been attended, treated or observed by any doctor or psychiatrist or at any hospital or mental institution on an inpatient or outpatient basis for any mental or psychiatric condition?

Answering this type of question "yes" is a de facto loss of, and thus a violation of their Constitutional right, without any due process or consideration to a lack of criminal of violent history. Furthermore, this treatment encourages returning veterans to not seek care fearing this discrimination.
