Exempt all teachers from furloughs to protect children's rights to a successful future and ensure freedom from poverty.

Created by L.R. on March 15, 2013

Due to the sequestration of March 1, 2013, students in the United States and those from U.S. military families will be facing the closure of their schools for periods of 22 days or longer (close to half a quarter's worth of instruction in all disciplines across the board), since this sequestration includes teachers as "non exempt" from furloughs. In addition, school programs, to include funding for extracurricular development of children, special education support programs and STEM programs are facing massive cuts, as funding provided to schools via near by bases will no longer be available.
