As a veteran, every Veterans Day, I hear of all of the government institutions that will be closed in observance of the federal holiday. But, I, like many other veterans, have to go to work. We are not employed by the federal government, but rather by the private sector. There are many federal employees that are not veterans that are allowed to take the day off, but not veterans working in the private sector. As a person, that served their country during war times, I think it is only fitting that veterans should be exempt from having to work on Veterans Day. Please extend this federal holiday to all veterans who are employed in the private sector.
