During the time blacks were held in slavery in this country, against their will, their free labor provided a huge economic benefit for this country. When they were finally freed the economic disadvantages they suffered have continued to this day. Tax exemption would provide a LONG overdue economic advantage for blacks across America and particularly black owned businesses.
Furthermore, by applying the "one drop rule" suddenly the "stigma" of being black would evaporate and give new meaning to the words "equal opportunity." Another long overdue ancillary benefit.
P.S. I'm white and this petition would provide no benefit for me. But it would do my heart good to see all blacks having a better than fair chance at living the "American dream" the same as me.
