As of January 2014, all SNAP Program (food stamp) recipients saw a minimum of 7% in benefit cuts due to a House Bill that passed in October. The House is expected to vote on a FARM Bill that will cut an expected $90.00 more in food stamps a month for 850,000 people over 15 states.
We urge this administration to move forward with an amendment that makes the elderly and legally disabled exempt from any cuts in their food stamp benefits.
