exempt Fire and Emergency Services from furloughs, putting life safety above saving money.

Created by K.R. on June 18, 2013

We ask that you provide an exemption from furloughs to firefighters and other emergency service personnel. The implementation of Sequestration and the need to reduce spending forces tough choices. However, the protection of life and property should not have a price. Federal firefighters are facing furloughs on military bases around the nation, causing shortages in staffing and/or impacting response times. Fire departments will be forced to perform only defensive operations. This is not how we show the proper care and respect for our military servicemen and women. We send our military members off to fight and we promise them we will care for their families. Forcing federal fire departments and other emergency services to cut staffing is not the answer. Provide exemption now & in the future.
