Exempt Military Personnel from Government Shutdowns so that military families continue to receive their payment.

Created by M.S. on September 28, 2013

Military personnel should continue to receive their pay and benefits in the event of a government shutdown. Their lives and payment should not be used as a political bargaining chip for political games of partisan blame. Military personnel do not affiliate with any party of government and their payment should not be held hostage for political purposes. These men and women that serve our country deserve to be paid regardless of what political turmoil happens in Washington DC. They have signed up to put their lives on the line for all of us no matter what. Stopping their pay can potentially mar not only their morale but also their loyalties. If congress and the senate continue to receive their payments during a shutdown, so should the military.
