Most military retirees are already on a very fixed income. Military retirement pay has been changed over the years (not to the advantage of the retiree, but to the advantage of the Government). As we know, the number of those who served our great nation that make it to retirement are very low. There should be no reason why military retirees are not tax exempt to assist with making ends meet. As our military retirement community increases in the number of combat veterans, the ability to seek post-military employment decreases. Serving 20 or more years of dedicated service to the nation should be enough for such a small token of appreciation for our military retirees who gave and continue to give.
