Expand the Americans with Disabilities Act to include transportation access to suburbs.

Created by R.P. on March 06, 2013

Petition to amend the Americans with Disabilities Act to force municipalities with suburbs, in particular geographically connected suburbs surrounding a metro area, to provide accessible transit options for persons with disabilities when the smaller municipalities are allowed to opt out of bus service and thus paratransit limiting where persons with disabilities and live, work and go. (a good example is the suburbs of Live Oak, Universal City and WIndcrest in the Greater San Antonio area that opted not to pay a tax to have bus service so no paratransit can be offered). Argument for expanded ADA Transportation- Just because persons with disabilities don't always drive doesn't mean we would live where the bus goes if we didn't have the disability and could drive.
