Expand and improve Lolita the killer whale's living facility at Miami Seaquarium

Created by L.C. on October 25, 2014

Lolita was captured in 1970 aged 4, and has lived at Miami Seaquarium since. She is approximately 21 feet long and weighs 7,000 pounds. Lolita's tank is 35 feet wide, 20 feet at it's deepest point and only 12 feet deep around the edges. However, this is much too small for a killer whale her size, and the guidelines state that her tank must be at least 48 feet wide to accommodate a whale of her size. Therefore Miami Seaquarium violates Department of Agriculture size regulations, and Lolita deserves much better.
