Expand the background checks for purchasing firearms while nullifying House Amendment 777 to H.R. 4332.

Created by M.J. on March 04, 2014

We the people propose to expand the background check process on the sale of all firearms to a fashion similar to the current method of obtaining a Title II weapon. Statistics show that such an extensive background check is extremely effective in preventing firearms from getting into the wrong hands. Of the ~175,000 Title II weapons registered, none have been known to have been used in a violent crime. We also propose the nullification of House Amendment 777 to H.R. 4332 which prevents civilians from possessing automatic firearms manufactured later than May 19, 1986. The firearm is not the problem - the individual possessing the firearm is. In addition, the ATF must be properly staffed to process background checks in a timely fashion.
