expand current discrimination laws to not allow college scholarships to be awarded solely because of race/ethnicity.

Created by C.P. on March 07, 2013

Throughout the country, many college students struggle to find the means to pay for college. There are scholarships available to the general student population, but there are many more available to students just because of race/ethnicity. However, some students do not fit into any of those scholarship guidelines and are left to find college funding alone, due to discrimination among the various organizations that offer scholarships. The Declaration of Independence states that "all men are created equal." If that is really true, then students should not be allowed to receive scholarships based purely on race. That is discrimination and should not be allowed in a country that professes to be so tolerant of those who are different.
