Expand the "Do Not Spam" law to include blog comments and enforce stricter penalties for spamming.

Top bloggers work hard to write the articles they post on their blogs and would very much like to encourage discussion on the topics they write about. Unfortunately, we are often annoyed by the need to moderate comments because spammers won't quit posting irrelevant links in our comment boxes. These are often links to websites that sell fraudulent products, host viruses that might destroy computers, or otherwise participate in illegal activity. The only solution is to enforce strict penalties for both the spammers and those fraudulent companies and individuals who sponsor them. Therefore, we petition the White House to expand and enforce penalties against blog spam to protect both bloggers and consumers.
