expand the Federal Do Not Call Registry to allow citizens to opt out of receiving political calls.

Created by J.Y. on February 11, 2014

The Federal Do Not Call Registry has served a useful purpose in reducing the number of unwanted telephone calls that people receive. However, it does not cover political phone calls which can be the most annoying and persistent of all calls. A mechanism should be developed either to expand the scope of the existing Do Not Call Registry or to create a new program whereby people can opt out of receiving political and other noncommercial solicitations.
