Expand the House of Representatives

Created by J.M. on June 07, 2013

Expand the house of representatives to no less than 789 seats and no more than 902 seats. This will give each representative a district size between 350,000 and 400,000 citizens. Currently, each representative has a district of around 700,000 citizens. This will allow for more ordinary citizens to seek office, reduce the amount of money needed for the campaign, allow for more voices in Congress and potentially increase third parties in this country. This is what democracy is about. It should be open to all citizens; not just citizens with the capital to do it. The House of Representatives should be more like the House of Commons, not the House of Lords
