Congressional representation has diminished as our population continues to grow. US Representatives should more accountable to their voters and not to PAC's, lobbyists, foreign trade entities, or other special interest groups.
In 1911, Congress passed Public Law 62-5, which limited the size of the House of Representatives to 435 members. The law took effect in 1913. Congress can change the number of members in the House, provided that the new number is within the minimum and maximum established by the Constitution.
Public Law 62-5 should be repealed and replaced with a law that provides more representation for the voting public. At the current population, the House of Representatives would expand to approximately 2,500 Congressmen.
