Expand the National Flood Insurance Program to cover all major declared disasters: hurricane, earthquake, wildfire, etc

Petition to require the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) to expand to include earthquake, hurricane, major fire, wildfire, tornado and other major natural and man-made disasters, as declared by the President. Currently, the NFIP only covers "rising water". The new coverage would help millions of Americans who are currently not covered (or covered by a policy at a great expense). More Americans covered over a greater number of risks would benefit all who choose to purchase this insurance. It also benefits the system itself. This may require a change of the program name to the National Disaster Insurance Program (NDIP).
